France: Exploring Bordeaux- Left Bank, Right Bank, Graves and Sa

Bordeaux is one of the most distinguished wine regions in the world. This classic, maritime region in France produces red wines blends dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, as well as world-class whites and noble sweet wines. Learn about what makes all three categories of wine so special and sought after? In this class, we'll cover the wine regions of the Left Bank and Right Bank including the sub regions of the Haut Medoc, Graves and Sauternes. We will discuss and taste the differences in styles of wine produced in Pauillac, St. Estephe, Margaux, St. Julien, Pomerol, Saint-Émilion, Lalande de Pomerol, Fronsac and beyond and taste the differences in styles of wine produced, as well Graves and Sauternes. We'll cover: history of the region; geology and climate; appellations and classifications; producers and vintages.
