An In Depth Guide to Sherry

Sherry comes from Spain’s oldest wine-producing region, extending from Cádiz to Jerez and uses grapes such as Palomino Fino, Pedro Ximenez and Muscat of Alexandria. Due to its wide range of styles and flavors, Sherry has the ability to compliment bold flavors from Spanish olives to stinky cheeses. In this class, we will taste six wines such as Fino, Amontillado and Oloroso to explore Sherry’s impressive versatility. We’ll cover history of the region; geology and climate; appellations and classifications; and fortification and aging methods.
